About Our Instructors:
Kristan Mack - Sam Dan
Certified 3rd Degree Black Belt Kristan Mack has been training with the WTSDA full time since 1993. She has trained under the instruction of Mr. Christian Klacko, Master Bill Storng, Master Vance Britt and currently trains under WTSDA Region 7 Director and Master Instructor, James Mars. Ms. Mack is the sole owner and Chief Instructor of Capitol Tang Soo Do, and her specialties include weapons and sparring. She is also a certified Center Ring Tournament judge, and is active within the Region and the World Tang Soo Do Association overall, serving on both the Website Committee as author of the Studio of the Month profile, and on the Website Review Committee, reviewing Association websites for the Board of Directors. Ms. Mack lives and works in Washington, D.C.
Andrew Blank - E Dan
Mr. Andrew Blank is a certified 2nd Degree Black Belt and has trained with Master Michael Kaye and Master Kevin Robinson as well as Ms. Mack and others during his TSD career. His specialties include basic and advanced kicking techniuques as well as sparring and Hyungs. Mr. Blank lives and works in Maryland.
Christopher Tighe - Cho Dan
Mr. Christopher Tighe is a certified 1st Degree Black Belt and has trained with Capitol Tang Soo Do since its inception. He has trained under the direction of Ms. Mack, as well as Master Vance Britt and Master James Mars. His specialties include self-defense, sparring, and meditation techniques. Mr. Tighe lives and works in the Washington, D.C. area.
Ed Saul - Cho Dan
Mr. Saul is a certified 1st Degree Black Belt and is also a registered Yoga Instructor, having received his certification from US1 Yoga while simultaneously completing his training with the WTSDA. He specializes in improving strength and coordination and frequently brings yoga into our studio with classes based on the style of Hatha Yoga, known as Viniyoga and Lyengar. Mr. Saul lives in Virginia.
Alonzo Mays Jr. - Cho Dan
Mr. Mays is also a certified 1st Degree Black Belt and has been training since 2002. Currently training for his E Dan certification, he specializes in Hyung techniques. Mr. Mays lives and works in Virginia.
